Our Lady of Guadalupe

Is 41:13-20, Ps 144:1, 9-13, Matthew 11:11-15

Being great!

You and I are greater than John the Baptist! Can you believe that? Surely not, you say! Yet that’s exactly what Jesus tells us in St Matthew’s Gospel. However, before we get too self important we should understand the source of this “greatness” and its nature. It is the greatness of God’s grace poured out on us through the Holy Spirit. It’s a greatness which only comes to fruition as, and to the extent that, we exercise those gifts of the Spirit. “Glory to Him whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we ask or imagine”. (Ephesians: 3:20)
