God of the mighty and the weak

The whole human race stands under God’s gaze and scrutiny. If we are in power and governance then we are called to exercise wisdom and justice. We are to serve the common good, and to take care of the weak and the needy. On this we will be held accountable by God. Jesus exemplifies this in his healing of the ten lepers – those who have been outcast and alienated from society. Jesus, who is the power and the wisdom of God, has made the poor and the needy his priority. Even though the majority fail to thank him for the gift of being healed and restored – he praised the one who does thank him.

God of power and might give us a heart that does justice for the weak and afflicted.
