A new beginning

Today’s gospel tells us a strange story. (I can’t help feeling a little sorry for the pigs!) How sad that their fear prevented people from welcoming Jesus and rejoicing in the healing of one of their neighbours. How natural that the man himself wanted to follow Jesus. He might well have been anxious about his own welcome home, besides wanting to stay with the one who had healed him. He was courageous however, for we are told he went and spread the word of all that had been done for him throughout the district. Do I have that sort of courage? Something to pray about today.
