Built on rock

How often do we become frustrated by our apparent lack of success in prayer and at overcoming our faults? To make matters worse Jesus says it’s not those who call out to him who will enter heaven, but those who do God’s will. However, I can have confidence. The solid rock upon which Jesus suggests we build the house of our Christian life is Jesus himself. Jesus is the master builder who merely needs the raw material of our good will to build a strong and stately mansion. And after all, I am “God’s work of art.” (Eph 2:10)
