Prayer is the key

Gandhi said, “Prayer is the key of the morning / and the bolt of the evening.”

That is true. But it is more.

Prayer is the key-hole: the vehicle that carries us to the other side.

Prayer is the key-bearer: full of intent, willingness and hope.

Prayer is the door: firm, solid and protective.

Prayer is the threshold: the liminal space, the pause.

Prayer is the hinge: connecting me to the divine.

I ask for the gift of prayer.
