On Running

Like Paul we are all participants in the race of life. Sometimes the way is smooth; sometimes we run through rocky and difficult terrain. Life on earth is all about the race. All of us are running to win the prize which is priceless and without measure. We are not there yet. We are called to leave everything behind in our quest to know Christ intimately and so to share in the promise of eternal life.

St Clare whose feast we celebrate today lived her life in prayer and austerity. She founded the order of Poor Clares and followed St Francis of Assisi in his life of poverty.

“You are my inheritance, O Lord.

You will show me the path of life.”
