The Road to Emmaus

This great story reflects what happens to us during our journeys with Christ. So there is Cleophas telling Jesus what had happened to him – telling Jesus what he already knows. I reckon Jesus is grinning as he gives them a few clues about himself and repeats his story. Maybe it’s the grin that stirs some past powerful memory that leads them to say:

‘Hey Jesus – stay with us will you”?

Invite Jesus to come and stay in your place – he knows you inside and out and just wants to get inside and be with you in that sacred space.
