IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

Tobit 12:1, 5-15, 20, Canticle Tobit,
Mark 12:38-44

Open hands, open heart

Garth Hewitt sings of the widow and her coin,

“So little means so much when the gift is everything

To give of our money, our talents, and our skills

Then when our hands are emptied, they are open, Lord, to you

And we return to our homes with hearts that are full.”

There is the fable of the monkey who had a fist full of food. He desired a treasure that was through a narrow cleft in the rock. To get it, he had to open his hand. Dilemma.

Can we open our hands and let go?

Can we open our heart and let God?

Grace.
