My “Mother and My Brothers”
Today’s Gospel tells me that “my mother and my brothers” are my fellow Christians, in particular my fellow Catholics. If we were to become more conscious of the significance of this relationship when we gather together for the Liturgy of the Eucharist, we would all gain a greater appreciation and experience of the unity which is the heart of good liturgy. We, though many, will have become one in the sharing of the bread and wine. Then we will truly be able to say that we have received and experienced “Communion”.
