Tobit 2:9-14; Ps 112; Mark 12:13-17

It is not that simple

It is challenging for us to pick our way through the moral mazes with which life presents us. Not every question can be answered with a simple yes or no. In this exchange, Jesus does not tell his questioners what belongs to Caesar and what belongs to God. Instead, he advises them to work it out for themselves. The Gospel gives us the principles; we have to apply them. May divine wisdom guide our human ingenuity.
