Hebrews 7:25-8:6; Psalm 40; Mark 3: 7-12

A large number of people

Important truths often lie hidden in the smallest of details. People came from all directions and from great distances in order to draw close to Jesus – to see the man everyone was talking about, to listen to his words of wisdom and to be cured. Yet Jesus does not bask in this sudden rise to fame. Quite the reverse! “He warned them sternly not to make him known”. All he said and did was for the sake of His Father’s Kingdom. Humility is at the very core of the Son of Man. Humility, then, should be at the core of our lives.
