They recognised him

Well, they certainly did not recognise him at first. Indeed, it took some time. And only after a long dialogue, and while they were at table, were their eyes opened. We pray for the grace to be patient with ourselves and the slowness of our growth in faith. Here we see dialogue, hospitality of the heart and the Eucharist, all contribute to a step forward in faith. Let us be attentive to when our hearts “burn within us”.
