2nd Sunday of Lent

Genesis 12:1-4; Psalm 33; 2 Timothy 1:8-10; Matthew 17:1-9

They saw his glory.

Peter, James and John went with Jesus up the mountain where they could be alone and there they saw the glory of God when Jesus was transfigured – his face shone like the sun and his clothes became white as the light. Timothy encourages us to rely on the grace of God to get us through the difficult times so that we too may grow in holiness and come to know more surely the Christ who has come into our world to overcome death and give us life. This is my Son, the beloved; he enjoys my favour. Listen to him.
