Preparing for Good Friday

Our Lenten Fridays echo Good Friday, our hearts are being slowly prepared to be with the one we love as he suffers. Although Jesus reluctantly goes to Jerusalem as secretly as he can, those there, when they recognise him, want to arrest him. The opposition intensifies and Jesus proclaims the Kingdom, God’s way of being with us. Can we take a moment today to sit before a crucifix and ask for new ways that we might be able to proclaim God’s kingdom? Or maybe read through the Passion Account in the Gospel of John.
