Achievement

Jesus reminds us that his coming among us is never to abolish but to complete. Often, as Ash Wednesday gets underway, we can be puzzled about what we can do this year for Lent, age cautioning us to choose something that is achievable. Our gospel suggests that Jesus will bring our deepest completion. Can we instead keep conversing with Jesus though these Lenten days about differing areas within our own life that could do with his completion? The emphasis no longer on what we are achieving but what God is achieving within us. As our day concludes, how about thanking God for what he is achieving in our life.
