Baby and bath water

Our Lord’s similitudes about the old and the new refer to the Old Law and the New Law. The message is to jettison religious activities that no longer fulfil their purpose and replace them with forms that truly worship God and sanctify the people. In this we follow the teaching authority of the Church. Otherwise we could be throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
