SEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Leviticus 19: 1-4, 17-18, Psalm 103: 1-4, 8-13, 1 Cor 3: 16-23, Matthew 5: 38-48

Holy … what me?

In our Gospel Reading Jesus gives us some of the implications in the first reading. The Holy Spirit takes up the theme again elsewhere in the New Testament. “Love one another even as I have loved you.” (John 13: 34) “This is the Will of God, your sanctification.” (1 Thess. 4) “Make love your aim.” (1 Cor 14: 1) “… that we should be holy and blameless.” (Eph.1: 4) “Strive for the holiness without which no one will see God.” (Hebrews 12: 14.)
