John 2:1-11

He hears us

John reminds us that we can be confident about praying for something because God will hear us and if it is in accordance with his will, what we asked for will be granted to us.

Imagine the scene in today’s gospel when the wine ran out. Mary simply says to the wine stewards, “Do whatever he tells you.” Mary may well have known that what she was asking for was in accordance with the will of God. She trusted that her son would respond to her request. The disciples saw and believed in him. “Lord, I believe, help my unbelief.”
