Becoming refugees

The mad ruler King Herod was so consumed by the need for power and control he killed all young male children at Jesus’ birth. This was his attempt to kill any promised messiah. Jesus, Mary and Joseph were forced to become refugees into Egypt. Imagine the experience. A new born baby, tired Mum and Dad, uncomfortable donkey journey to a foreign land, leaving your homeland in the middle of the night, learning a foreign language, searching for work, fears for safety and the future. A Holy Family.
