Commemoration of the Faithful Departed

Wisdom 3:1-9; Ps 23:1-6; Romans 5:5-11; Luke 7:11-17.

Remembrance

Traditionally this is the day we pray especially for our beloved dead. We believe these souls “are in the hands of God” (Wisdom 3:1). And “what proves that God loves us is that Christ died for us while we were still sinners” (Romans 5:8) We believe that as Jesus died and has risen, so those who have fallen asleep will also be brought to life. Let us reflect on this truth today.
