Mustard and Yeast

Here are two more examples of God’s kingdom or grace at work. It is ‘like’ a mustard seed. This example has the air of randomness about it. The seed is ‘thrown’ onto the soil. And the birds take advantage of the bush to shelter there. The bush would seem to be the Church and the birds the common people. The second ‘likeness’ is yeast: small, hidden and mixed in so that it influences the whole mass of dough.
