Parable of the forgiving father

Three parables in this chapter of Luke: a lost sheep, a lost coin, a lost son. There is searching, finding, rejoicing, within each story. You may like to consider -

the distant son… clasped in his father’s arms;

disillusioned… he came back to his senses;

journeying home… rehearsing his words

“treat me as a paid servant” … treated as a son;

famine… a celebration feast
