Knocking on the door

Door knocking can be a fascinating exercise. Sometimes no-one answers even though we are sure someone is there. There can be outright rejection. There can be the door half-open that reveals suspicion. But there can be the joy of a warm welcome and the invitation to enter. It is a sobering thought to remember that we shall be knocking on the Lord’s door one day.
