Building bigger barns

Jesus’s parable about the man who built new and larger barns and then died unexpectedly, is echoed by the author of Ecclesiastes. All our hard work is useless if we are motivated solely by selfishness. This might make us question our own toil! Knowing that my death is inevitable, though it might seem far off, am I able to examine my own life to discover what motivates me? What if all I do is done for financial gain? When I die will my part of the world be a better place because I have lived here?
