God’s suffering people

“Oh my people what have I done to you?” says the Lord through the prophet Micah. As we see the immense devastation and cruelty of war, or the massive accumulation of goods by a rich minority, or the misery of people in shanty towns all over the world, we can understand God’s anguish. Jesus teaches us that what we do to the least of his people we do to him. If we ask him what we could do to alleviate some of this suffering his answer is clear: “Act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with your God” Do we live like this?
