Isaiah 26: 7-19; Psalm 102:102: 13-21; Matthew 11: 28-30;

I will give you rest

These words of Jesus are perhaps the most consoling in the New Testament. They are so easy to understand but do we truly believe them? Do we believe and have we experienced that in times of weariness, times when we are tempted to sit down and stop trying, moments of loneliness and grief, Jesus can truly give us rest, console us, and carry us? The yoke of our belonging to Jesus is not too heavy to carry because he carries it with us. That makes everything different.
