Rejection

These words of Jesus could be frightening! However, maybe we can read them as expressions of Jesus’ disappointment in his own people, some of whom rejected him and finally put him to death. Was it this experience of rejection which helped him to open his heart and his message to the non-Jews? God’s providence works in strange ways and often our deepest pain or even our sins will be used by the Lord to steer us in another direction, a better way. God’s love is infinitely creative.
