Courage in tribulations

Knowing what we know about the persecution of the early Christians we can be sure that the memory of these words of Jesus must have given them the extraordinary courage they needed to face the terrible situations they were faced with. Our own trials may seem small in comparison. But over the centuries, countless Christians, persecuted in a huge variety of different ways, have found strength in Jesus’ words and have found their own Spirit-filled words to confront evil. Are we able to trust in the dark when all kinds of difficult situations threaten us?
