The tenderness of God

The image of God as a tender father is very moving. Even in the Hebrew scriptures, we see a God who is full of tenderness and compassion even when his children reject him. Jesus’ instructions to his disciples are that they seek out the outcasts and despised in each town just as he himself did. Christianity means following the Lord in this. Do our communities seek out the neediest people in our own area or even beyond? Are we able to identify these people? What are their needs?
