“He resolutely determined …”

The word ‘resolutely’ says so much about Jesus and his commitment to all that awaited him in Jerusalem. The lack of hospitality in the Samaritan village offended James and John but Jesus hardly seemed to notice. He kept moving. Then he seemed to brush aside those who wished to follow him, but only half-heartedly. His determination to do his Father’s will, wherever it may lead him, was all-consuming. A focused will – is this the definition of purity? Do we have the courage to be so pure?
