Almsgiving and Fasting

True humility never makes itself known by clever tactics or subtle gestures and it certainly never looks gloomy. A quiet joy, that might even evade our notice, radiates from the person who has recognised the truth about themselves, about how they look when standing before God, the Almighty. A joy based not on what they do for others but rather on what God does for them. It is in and through that joy they feel compelled to reach out beyond themselves in almsgiving and fasting.
