St. Justin, Martyr

Acts 20:28-38; Psalm 68: 29-30, 33-35a, 35bc-36ab; John 17:11-19

Faith and Reason

Justin lived and died only 100 years after Jesus. He was a philosopher in an age when such men were highly thought of and whose opinions were sought out and respected. He sought God by questioning his world fearlessly, yet respectfully and humbly. He did not see any conflict between Faith and Reason. May the example of Justin quietly reassure and inspire us when others may think that our Faith is unreasoned or unreasonable.
