Holy disturbance

If I love Jesus, I will keep his word. God will love me and I will go with Jesus Christ to make a home in God. This sounds like a simple plan for my life. Enter the Holy Spirit, who stirs up my plans and unsettles my conscience. When I allow the Holy Spirit into my heart the Word of God comes closer to that part of my life I keep hidden from others. I will find this experience disturbing. But it prepares the holy ground of my heart to receive Jesus Christ’s life-giving gift of peace. Lord help me to use disturbance well.
