Self-sacrificing service

Do I give of my flesh for others so that the world is a better place for my having done so? Somehow all the named and organised things we do for God by way of service must be underpinned by letting God into that service. God draws us up into his life so that the way we serve is infused with his love for the world. Prayer is an important part of loving service. In prayer we can contemplate God’s life, ask ourselves why God wants to be part of our outreach. Help me with this, Lord.
