EASTER OCTAVE

Acts 4:1-12; Psalm 118; John 21:1-14

An unexpected surprise

After an unsuccessful night’s fishing, Jesus tells them to put out their net again. A huge catch is the result. John immediately recognises Jesus – and they all breakfast together on the beach. It seems a very ordinary scene – but this is Jesus, real and alive among his friends. The unexpected, the surprise, the seemingly random act of kindness happens in my life, too. Do these surprises speak to me of Jesus, present and active in my own life?
