FIFTH SUNDAY of LENT

Isaiah 43:16-21; Psalm 126; Philippians 3:8-14; John 8:1-11

“I forgive you.”

A good way through Lent we are consoled with God’s words through Isaiah “I am the Lord; I have done wonders in creation, but nothing compared with what I am going to do!” We’ll have the death and Resurrection of Jesus in mind, but Jesus in our Gospel today forgives the woman taken in adultery – “I don’t condemn you, go your way and don’t sin anymore.” Have I sought the outstretched forgiving hand of Jesus this Lent?
