FOURTH WEEK OF LENT

Psalm 34; Joshua 5:9-12; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Luke 15:1-3, 11-32

One for many and many to one

Paul in 2 Corinthians has it summarised well: “God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself”. The entire universe is put right between us and God through the actions of Christ. Christ is one for many. Yet individually we need to make our personal reconciliation with God. This is many to one. The parable of the prodigal son shows what delight God has in the sinner who returns to God. He wants to put on a party and make a big fuss of us. Help us come to our senses, God, and come home to you.
