Have your heart with God

In the Old Testament God sent the Prophets, and in the New Testament we have the words of Jesus. The combining thread of today’s readings is the difficulty people have in placing their hearts with God. People get caught up with life and forget about God and lose their reverence for him. In Luke the people go so far as to say he comes from the devil. How dispiriting for Jesus. Jesus argues back so the people can have second thoughts. It’s enough for them to start their journey towards God.
