Love one another

Pope Francis said the following from a reflection called, When Hate Kills: “There is in fact, the commandment not to kill, but bad-mouthing someone is also killing because it’s rooted in hatred: you don’t have the courage to kill him or you think that would be too much, so you kill him in another manner, with gossip, slander, defamation.” In Matthew, Jesus sounds upset. Perhaps it’s because he knows how such insults impede people from living full and happy lives. Once more we are called to love one another.
