To give without counting the cost

What begins as a call to holiness in Leviticus, in Matthew, becomes a judgement of that call. In Leviticus you are told what you shouldn’t do to your fellows - you shouldn’t steal. However by Judgement Day, that is turned into a question of how have you treated your fellows, especially the lowly? In Leviticus God is separate from man. In Matthew, Jesus is one with the poor, the sick and the imprisoned. Our love for God draws us into loving each other. You can’t have one without the other.
