Acceptance

The One who proclaims the time of God’s acceptance is not accepted by his own people. The ministry he begins – and that will continue after his death-resurrection through the Church – is about acceptance. It is a summons to a deep, transforming conversion. Before there is conversion, there is acceptance. Jesus welcomes the afflicted, the trapped and the outcast. The crucial question is who will ‘accept’ the ‘acceptance’ of Jesus and who will not? The choice is ours. Through welcoming and reaching out we, too, offer acceptance.
