Astounded and amazed

The scribes and religious leaders who collaborated with the Romans opposed Jesus. In the tradition of the prophets, his teachings and actions critique their attitudes and structures. His critiques give energy for transformation and create an alternative community of well-being for those without hope. Jesus reaches out to this marginalised man. Many were “astounded” and “amazed” at the words and actions of Jesus – responses found often in Mark. Reflect on those times when you are energised and amazed at how God is working in your life.
