God’s reign is near

Jesus settles in Capernaum, a fishing village on “the Way of the Sea,” an important trade town and in the region of the tribes of Zebulun and Naphtali. Matthew relocates Jesus there to fulfil Scripture. The “great light” he shines is the reign of God which enables transformation – peace, justice, abolition of sickness and death. People are called to a change of heart. Repent literally means to ‘go beyond’ or ‘expand the mind.’ How can I expand to live in the light as the world is being reclaimed for God?
