Hope fulfilled

Simeon waited with certainty. He had insuperable trust that the promise God made him would be fulfilled. He would see the Messiah. That hope was fulfilled. The song he sang that day was prophetic. Salvation for all people would come through this tiny child. People would fall or rise according to the stand they took in regard to the Cross. But rather than focus on Simeon’s prophecies, let’s turn to the virtue of Hope. Hope carries us through pain and misery to peace and joy. And our ultimate hope is to see in his glory our Lord face to face.
