Solid and deep

Living a spiritual life is like building a house. A deep and solid foundation is essential. “Rock” says the Lord in the parable. “Deep” says St Augustine in one of his homilies. He continues, “The higher an edifice is to be, the deeper must be its foundation. Humility, therefore, comes before height, even in the construction of buildings. “Learn from me,” says Jesus, “For I am meek and humble of heart.” Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like yours.
