He welcomed him joyfully

A story of joy and conversion. The despised tax collector, perhaps making a fool of himself by climbing the tree, encounters Jesus. What results is hospitality, joy, forgiveness, repentance and conversion. Jesus demonstrates to us that no-one is beyond redemption. Not only that, but such an occasion is one to be celebrated – a soul was saved. Do we remember to rejoice at such occasions? Setting aside our past judgements and seeing the good in someone?
