Pestering God

Jesus tells us that this parable is about praying continually without losing heart. Pope Francis teaches us how important it is to persist in our prayer, however humble or unworthy. The judge did not give in because he was moved by mercy, but because of the perseverance of the widow, and his realisation of the importance of a just decision. Francis goes on to say “If a widow with no influence could sway a judge, by her persistent pleas, then imagine how powerful the same force of prayer is when directed toward a loving, merciful and benevolent God.”
