Here I am, Lord

The Scout motto, Be Prepared, echoes the urging of Jesus to have your lamps lit and to be ready at all times to meet the Lord. This urging is very open-ended. Like the Samaritan traveller, who did not expect to find someone in need of help but was ready when the need appeared, you and I will meet similar opportunities to serve. What’s my level of preparedness? Pray the psalm response several times today: Here I am, Lord – and add, I’m ready!
