The Lord’s Prayer

Jonah is unhappy that God forgives the Ninevites, even though he accepts that 

God is “tender and compassionate.” We are not unlike Jonah, with a preference for punishment rather than forgiveness for others. We need to be careful how we pray the prayer Jesus taught, especially the line, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
