EXALTATION OF THE HOLY CROSS (f)

Numbers 21:4-9; Psalm 78, Philippians 2:6-11; John 3:13-17

God loved the world so much

The readings of this ancient feast day draw us into the very heart of God. Story, poetry and symbol give us glimpses of God's all-embracing love, made visible in Jesus’ death on the cross. Generations of believers in distress have come to the cross for peace, courage and hope – to get enough strength and energy to keep going. Simply place a cross in your hand or sit before a cross. Sit and gaze in silence and awe before the mystery of God's unfailing love.
